Conservatives doubt Russia's laws have anything to do with anti-gay violence

Mission America’s Linda Harvey doesn't think the gay equality movement is just or fair
Brian Camenker, head of the MassResistance
According to conservative activists Linda Harvey and Brian Camenker anti-gay violence in Russia is the fault of the victims.
Camenker, the leader of MassResistance, talked with Mission America’s Harvey this weekend. Harvey wondered if reports of anti-LGBT violence, based on the gay propaganda bill, are true or fabricated.
The law, which passed in June, makes it illegal to promote 'homosexual lifestyles' to people under the age of 18.
Camenker, as reported by Right Wing Watch, answered there probably is violence but it's due to people publicly kissing.
'Well, it’s hard to say,' Camenker said, according to Right Wing Watch. 'I would say that a lot of it is probably true. The natural way people react to homosexuality — outside of all the diversity training — is a certain amount of revulsion. So if two men start kissing in the public street, you can expect a certain reaction from people.'
Harvey defended the law, arguing it is meant to protect youngsters.  She added this is recognized by fair and logical people.
'But that doesn’t mean that this is a bad law,' Harvey insists. 'It means that this is a law that protects children and that will be a separate issue, and if we were dealing with logical people and a logical movement they will see it as a separate issue if they were being just and fair but they’re not just and fair. '
Both maintained they were not advocating anti-gay violence. Yet, Harvey and Camenker are certain gays do things in public and those acts are the roots to all problems.
if you’re going to do something that most of the population considers bad or immoral or disgusting in public, you’re going to get a certain reaction. I think that they push that as far as they can and sometimes you just can’t do it. - See more at: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/camenker-victims-gay-bashing-had-it-coming#sthash.cYHLJMOx.dpuf

Harvey agreed. However, she insisted she was not approving physical attacks against gays and lesbians.
There’s some provocation going on. Not justifying violence in any way for all of these people listening and wanting to spin this the way they will want to do. - See more at: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/camenker-victims-gay-bashing-had-it-coming#sthash.cYHLJMOx.dpuf
